Montessori method of teaching involves the use of materials to enhance the child’s physical, intellectual, emotional and language development. It also supports the development of self-confidence, independence and concentration that are essential in life.

What is the difference between Montessori and traditional education?

Montessori is designed to help all children reach their fullest potential at their own unique pace.
Montessori classroom supports all children because there is no comparison. The multi-age grouping allows each child to find his or her own pace without feeling “ahead” or “behind” in relation to peers.

Are Montessori children successful later in life?

How can I become a Montessori teacher?
Sunshine provides a Diploma in Montessori Education, a seven month, part-time program that is fun, interactive and hands-on. We have intakes frequently and provide excellent service, support and motivation to our students.
You can enroll in a morning, evening or Saturday program and into any program that suits you.
Do I qualify for the program?
- You have to be a minimum of 18 years old. There is no maximum age limit for this program.
Our oldest student was 52 years old, a housewife who had not done any courses for years and had a sudden desire to do something useful. On her successful completion of the program, she was offered a job in Kinderland, Pondok Indah.
- You will need to have successfully completed your high school.
- You will need to be able to attend classes regularly
- If you are looking to get a job as a qualified preschool teacher in Indonesia, you will need to have at least completed a bachelor’s degree in any field.
Is this Montessori Diploma sufficient to obtaining a job as a preschool teacher in Indonesia?
If you already have a bachelor’s degree in any field and this diploma, you would be able to get a job very easily in Indonesia as a Montessori or even a regular preschool teacher.
This program provides a holistic education for teachers – covering all the areas that a preschool teacher needs to know.
Will I be able to get a job straight away?
All of our graduates thus far have secured jobs with ease. The need for qualified Montessori teachers is felt globally.
In Indonesia today there are too many preschools. The need for knowledgeable and skilled teachers is highly felt. Many of the preschools have started adopting the Montessori method of teaching and most of them have the materials although they lack the knowledge to implement them. Completing our program will give you a competitive edge when applying for a teaching job.
Will my certificate be internationally recognised?
On your successful completion of the program, Sunshine issues a diploma in Montessori Education. Our program is recognised by the Ministry of Education in Indonesia.
We follow an international standard of the Montessori curriculum. Our students have been able to secure jobs locally and overseas.
It is important to note that in most countries, a Montessori certification is not recognised as a teaching qualification by itself. It may be necessary to have other additional teaching qualification as required by that country.

What is the program’s workload?
There are two types of examinations. The written examination consists of a series of multiple choice and short answer questions. The practical examination involves the assessment of your presentation of the various materials in the classroom.
In addition, assignments will involve the preparation of five files, one for each of the Montessori areas. This will involve taking pictures and preparing certain materials.

How do I know if teaching is for me or not?
Teaching is not for everyone. It is important that you get a feel of the program and sit through some classes to see if teaching is right for you or not. For this reason, we offer a FREE TRIAL
Sitting through a trial class will give you an idea of the quality of training we provide. It will also provide you an opportunity to meet our trainer in person and other students who are completing the program.
Is the course expensive?
Education is a worthwhile investment. You will need to make this investment. We do allow payment in easy equal installments over the duration of the course.
